Ms. Mae Pfeifer

As I am going into my second year teaching, I am so excited to share my love for visual arts with grades 6-8. I am dedicated to helping students discover their creative capabilities and allowing students to learn about and experience art in the real world.
 
In my classroom, students will work with a wide variety of materials and techniques, while exploring many historical and contemporary artists, in order to expand their visual arts vocabulary and art history knowledge. Students will not only create art, but will discover that the creative process builds problem-solving skills, improves their ability to communicate and work as a team, strengthens ties between art and other subject areas, and stands as an outlet for students to express themselves. Art education is vital to all students learning experience as it allows for student growth and progress in ways that cannot be found in other areas of education. I am looking forward to working with students this school year to help them expand their artistic abilities and to harness a stronger appreciation for the art we experience in our everyday lives.
