Course Description

Digital Art is a class designed for students who wish to pursue knowledge in the area of computer-generated art. Using graphic design, students will be exposed to the skill of visual communication to represent ideas or concepts. Students will be given the opportunity to explore the design process and: use critical thinking skills, and find creative visual solutions while designing many of their own projects. There will also be a strong emphasis on the use of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Students will learn the use of basic tools of design to create good art. Student assessment in this course will be project-based. Students will also begin to create an online portfolio of their work to showcase their continued learning as they grow individually as designers.

Art Foundations is a semester course. This course is offered for students in grades 10th, 11th, and 12th. This course explores a variety of media and techniques. It also prepares the student for any semester art courses.

About me:

Hello! I am an Art Education graduate from Kent State University with a master's in education from Nova Southeastern University. I have taught all age levels throughout the district and currently teaching at Mentor High School. I am also an advisor of the Art Club and Co-Advisor of World Travelers. I am looking forward to the school year and helping all my students become successful in a variety of art techniques.
